We are excited to release our female empowerment anthem, “I Know My Worth” on the heels of our third number 1. “Today I Do Became I Don’t” The recording which comes out today, January 19th, is the first female “hick hop” recording done by a female of color. The recording itself is also the first time that the banjo has been used as the lead instrument in a dance influenced recording. The whole project is just full of innovation from top to bottom and we are so excited that we have added this piece to our catalog, especially after saying we would never do a dance record again, but you never say never in terms of bringing art to life as you just really don’t know where inspiration will come from and you just simply have to run with it when you are guided to do so.

The “I Know My Worth” campaign will be a benefit to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network as a portion of the proceeds from every download will be donated to the non-profit further supporting women centric charities. Women’s empowerment has always been a passion of mine which is why the song was a must do. The piece is dedicated to my mom, who was herself a sexual assault survivor and this is such a fitting tribute now that she is no longer with us.
